The Pemigewasset Valley Chapter welcomes all prospective members to attend a chapter meeting. All meetings are held at 10:00 a.m. on the first Saturday of the month. Please email us for more specific information and meeting location.

March 5, 2016 Reuben Whitten: Ashland NH & the Year Without a Summer. In April 1815, Mt. Tambora, a volcano on an Indonesian island, first stirred and then exploded. The stratospheric cloud stretched around the earth, spread north throughout the northern hemisphere, and reflected enough sunlight to affect weather patterns. In some parts of the world, the impact was minor but in much of Europe it caused near famine conditions. In New England, it helped change history.
April 2, 2016 Ken Evans: Livermore Falls (Campton NH) Project. The area of the Falls is not just a spot where people of all ages go to visit on a regular basis for swimming, fishing, rock climbing, and relaxing in the sand, but is also a historic site that can be traced all the way back to the growing stages of our country.
May 7, 2016 Richard H. Tivey: Colonial Dwellings of New England. This presentation will cover the first immigrant dwellings from temporary shelter of exploration and fishing days, 1500s, including the permanent homes of early settlers to New England before 1700.
June 4, 2016 Brian Blasi: historic music of colonial New England discussion and performance.

October 1, 1016 Tour of the award-winning LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) -certified White Mountain National Forest office building in Campton. Ranger Candice will provide a tour and discuss national forest "hot topics" related to our area..
November 5, 2016 First Star Tonight. The mission of First Star is simple ... to bring light into the lives of the neediest of our children and young adults. First Star Tonight was organized in 1986 by a group of business and professional people who recognized the need for a local focus in providing support for terminally ill children and young adults.
